Our fall camps are buzzing with creativity and imagination!

Our fall camps are buzzing with creativity and imagination!

In Monday’s Textile Arts Camp, our young artists have been joyfully stitching, painting, and weaving their own expressive creations. They began the week by learning a variety of foundational embroidery stitches and experimenting with them in playful, hands-on practice. After that, they explored the rich traditions of batik from around the world and used these inspirations to design and dye their own patterned fabrics.

As we move into the final week, campers will bring all of these skills together by designing and crafting a small stuffed animal or a unique shape of their choice—an opportunity to showcase their creativity, confidence, and growing mastery of textile arts.

Our Wednesday Sculpture Camp artists have been stretching their creativity by transforming flat, 2D materials into expressive 3D artworks. Inspired by the beauty of the season, they crafted delicate leaf mobiles using paper, yarn, and twigs, experimenting with balance, movement, and texture. This week, they are learning to safely and confidently use the ChompSaw to cut their own shapes, and they’ll soon be applying both imagination and engineering skills to make those shapes stand upright and come alive in sculptural form.

As we head into our final two weeks, artists will bring everything they’ve learned together by designing and building a mixed-media animal sculpture of their choice—a playful, inventive culmination of their sculptural exploration.

In Monday’s Wire Art Camp, young artists have been busy twisting, bending, and shaping wire into incredible creations! They began by crafting wire baskets to build a foundation in wire arts—learning how to form structure, balance, and stability with this flexible medium. Next came wire-and-mixed-media spiders, inspired by the fall season and all the tiny creatures we see around us. Students also experimented with air-dry clay and wire, discovering new ways to combine materials and express their ideas.

For our final week, campers will bring it all together by finishing their wire animal masks and creating a wire self-portrait—a playful and imaginative way to bring personality and creativity to life in three dimensions!

Our Wednesday Drawing Camp artists have been on an exciting journey exploring how artists see and draw the world around them! Through playful exercises like blind contour drawing, drawing with both hands, and continuous line drawing, students are developing the habits and mindset of artists.

They’ve experimented with a wide range of drawing tools—charcoal, pastels, metallic and glitter pens, Sharpies, and, of course, the trusted pencil—and even created drawings using marbles and ping pong balls! The studio has been filled with laughter, curiosity, and creativity.

For our final week, artists will bring all their learning to life with a mixed-media landscape, combining their favorite techniques and materials. They’ll finish off with a free drawing of their choice, a perfect way to showcase their imagination and individual artistic voice!

Art Camps in Full Swing!

Our first camps are off to a fantastic start!

In Monday Camps, young artists have been exploring the world of paper art—from learning about the history of paper to making their own handmade sheets and experimenting with papier-mâché. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, students created vibrant paper masks inspired by cultural traditions. Up next: transforming paper into imaginative 3D artworks!

Our Wednesday Camps have been alive with color and creativity as artists dive into painting. They began with imaginative shadow drawings and even made brushes from nature—who knew grass could paint so beautifully? Recently, students explored expressive painting through dragging and splatter techniques to create their own night skies. Next, they’ll craft natural paint pigments and continue their colorful adventures!
